The best & worst of 2013's Grammy Awards

Despite poking fun at the Grammy Awards on Twitter, I really enjoyed this year's show. I didn't like all of it, of course. But I liked a lot of it. Here's a list of my favorite and not-so-favorite moments.

Best Vocal Performance: Kelly Clarkson

I know, I know. I'm so cliche. But the girl can sing.

Best Overall Performance: Jack White

Just loved the emotion and energy of this performance. Jack White at his best, in my opinion.

Best Duo: Rihanna & Mikky Ekko

A great pop song. Good vocals. And apparently (I didn't know this), Mikky Ekko goes to my church.

Most Forgettable Performance: Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's music has really grown on me. But she's best when she's not trying so dang hard. And here she's trying so hard. And you need to be Katy Perry or Madonna in order to compete with the crazy surrounding her on the stage.

Other thoughts...

LL Cool J was a very annoying host. He seemed bent on talking about himself rather than hosting the Grammy Awards.

Carrie Underwood's vocals were perfection but the "stage magic" was distracting. The best comment I read last night about it was, "Thank you Carrie Underwood for illustrating where a woman's ovaries are." That's funny.

Justin Timberlake. He was awesome. He's never not awesome. But he was a bit boring for Justin. I think we all sort of want sexy back.

How about you? What did you love/hate about last night's Grammy Awards?
